As you are probably aware by now, 26 States and 2 commonwealths filed a lawsuit  against the major labels on August 08, 2000. The participating states are listed below. If your state is not among them, write, call, or e-mail your states Attorney General to request that your state joins in the lawsuit.

The states joining in the suit are:

  • Florida (hope it doesn't come down to a vote..)
  • New York
  • Arizona (what do old people care about music anyway?)
  • Arkansas (yo Cletus)
  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Hawaii (no "rainbows" here)
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Kansas (what about Dorothy and Todo?)
  • Maryland
  • Michigan
  • Mississippi
  • Missouri
  • Nevada (it's a gamble)
  • New Mexico
  • North Carolina (the cigarette industry really took a hit)
  • Oklahoma (Go Sooners!)
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • South Carolina
  • Texas (Don't Mess With Texas)
  • Utah
  • Vermont
  • Washington
  • West Virginia
  • Wisconsin (it must be the cheese)
Notably missing is California, whom in the midst of its umpteenth power crisis and finger pointing toward profiteering by outsiders, never looks in its own backyard. The word for California is MIRROR! Look in one.. you might see something familiar: yourself.

The states and two commonwealths (Puerto Rico and the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands) are asking for unspecified damages. The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York.
