Showing "A Little Respect" for your fellow human being
Cell Phone Courtesy (use common sense):
- In a
restaurant, grocery or retail store, and movie theater, turn your cell phone to
vibrate. You could also walk into the lobby, the restroom, or go
outside. If you can't show us this courtesy, then, turn it OFF.
- While
driving, use a cordless headset phone that is installed in your
vehicle. If you do not have a cordless headset phone, then, while looking before you change
lanes, change lanes and pull
off at the next exit or to the shoulder lane.
-
If you are in school (whether it's elementary or high school, community
college or university), show some respect for your fellow classmates, turn
your cell phone OFF. However, if you must leave it on, use the VIBRATE
mode.
- At any point, if your self-esteem is just so low that you must take a call,
take the call to an area where there is very few people (preferably none) as
we do not care about your personal business any more than you care about
ours (after all, you're showing us no respect by answering the phone
anyway). This means do not start your conversation then leave the current
area; it means to softly tell the call to hold a moment, then exit the area.
If you cannot follow these simple courtesies, take a gun, aim at your
forehead, and pull the trigger! Enough is enough. I have a cell phone and I
have never used it while I was the driving a vehicle, in a movie, during class,
or while taking a piss. Yes, I have elderly family members, etc but that is NO
excuse. If you really care about these "family members", you will show them the
respect they deserve as well as your fellow man.
Have an another opinion this topic, have additional topic
ideas, or an opinion
other societal etiquette and would like it posted?? Drop me a
line at give a little
respect to me.
