Location:
Ventura Boulevard, Los Angeles, California - Secondspin.com
retail store
Date:
Early February
Vendor
Type: Record Store
Explanation: A friend of mine and I went into the store to do our weekly dose of mega-CD shopping...(we normally do this at a store steps away called Moby Disc, but decided to try this place out) I had about 8 CD's, my friend about 4 or 5. We walked up to the counter upon finishing our selecting, and my friend was in front of me, looking at a cart with some videos and clearance Items, and there was a gentleman in front of him socializing with the girls behind the counter. He stepped away, and the woman behind the counter said "um, I can HELP you...." in a disgusted fashion. So, my friend walked up to the counter and she asked him if he wanted to buy the CD's, to which he replied "What else would I do with them" And she rolled her eyes and said "Is that a weird question?, you can listen to them", as she proceeded to give him the looks of medusa. Upon ringing the CD's up, she said "do you want a bag, or is that a strange question too?" He said "yes, I want a bag" and signed his receipt throwing the pen down cause she was such a bitch. I then walked up to the counter, and I was helped by her little helper friend, who promptly decided to join in on the battery, and asked me "Do you REALLY need to buy all of these?" (not like the CD's in question weren't paying her measly paycheck), to which I replied "yes". Her and the other proceeded to SLAM my CD's into the "Antitheft removal whirly-gig" and they both were giving us VERY dirty looks. Moral of the story: You can work retail, or you can be a bitch....the two should NEVER cross. Just because you are some dried-up skank working at a record store on Ventura Blvd. is no reason to hate your life. If you are in the market to buy Used CD's DO NOT Patronize SecondSpin on Ventura Blvd...walk a few steps down the road to Moby Disc...their selection is better, and they have a very helpful staff.... Nuff said!

Verdict: SecondSpin.com's retail store is perpetuating a level of service not equal to that of it's online presence. It would appear that SecondSpin.com is getting to big and is attempting to bring the service level down to that of California and other West Coast States. Once living in San Diego, Los Angeles area, and San Francisco Bay area, California, I can agree with Mr. Tearpak concerning such "outbursts" at retail. It is not acceptable.
Please support the human condition by not patronizing the SecondSpin.Com retail locations anywhere in the United States.
